Programme: Day 1 Doc Media Month

untitled

Tuesday 1st November

The first event of Documentary Media Month 2016 is a Year 11 Options Fair for 205 students at Babington Community College.

‘Understanding Careers and Future Pathways’ – ‘Meet the Experts’.

I’m supporting this event as a *STEM Ambassador by becoming a ‘human library book’ on careers in Documentary Media (e.g. film, photography, audio and new media) and bringing a stand to promote Documentary Media Month.

*STEM=Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths

8.30am-10.55am Babington Community College

All set up at the College ready for the students to arrive. I spoke to 7 students who were very intrested in a media career. Gave them all contact details to visit over a weekend in November.

The Silent Disco UK company has been a huge supporter of the DocFilm Festival throughout the 7 times its been held. Once again they supplied the 40 headsets free of charge and their usage has made many of the sessions possible.
